The Mew Trick
Ah, yes, the infamous Mew Trick. There's a lot of rumors floating around, but this is the actual way to do it. This only works in Red, Blue, and Yellow, so beware.
First, get a Pokemon with Fly. Get a good team of catching Pokemon, too. First, don't battle the Gambler on Route 8 (between Saffron and Lavender). Don't battle the Youngster on Route 25 (On the way to Bill's House).
FLY to Celadon City. Go to the tunnel and go through. Stop at the door. Take one step down and SAVE YOUR GAME! If you screw up, you won't have another chance to try it. Then, take one step down and presss start at the same time (This will take practice). The menu should pop up before he sees you. FLY to Cerulean City. Go up the bridge and go to the Youngster seen above. Walk in front of him; Make SURE that he has to walk up to you to battle you. Beat him and FLY to Lavender Town. Go over to the left and the Menu should pop up. Exit immediatly: don't save. A (dundundadadaaa!) lv7 Mew will appear! If you have any problems, e-mail me!
A variation is to bring a Pokemon with Growl. When you get to the Slowpoke Trainer, use Growl six times before you beat him. Mew will be lv1. Put him first out. Now, go to Route 1. Beat any pokemon there by switching out Mew for a stronger Pokemon. If Mew recieves less than 54 exp, Mew will jump up to lv100! However, make sure he recieves less than 54 exp, or it won't work. Expiramentation is left to the visitor.
